A fantastic visit to the 2026 Balmoral Show with colleagues from the EFRA Select Committee.
The Balmoral Show is a brilliant showcase of Northern Ireland's world-class agrifood sector, bringing together outstanding livestock, food, drink, horticulture and local produce. 
It was invaluable to meet with local vets, farmers and representatives from AERA (the equivalent to the EFRA Committee) to hear directly about the opportunities and challenges facing the industry.
As we continue our work on thematic reports, it is essential that we understand how Government policies impact farmers and rural communities across all parts of the UK, particularly as discussions around future agricultural policy continue.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us. The passion, expertise and innovation on display were truly impressive and I look forward to returning in the future.
