I am absolutely delighted that the future of William Blake House has been secured.
After months of discussions, meetings, letters and working alongside families, a solution has been found that will ensure residents continue to receive the care and support they deserve.
William Blake House is a much-loved residential learning disability care home in Blakesley and when families first raised concerns with me earlier this year, I was determined to do everything possible to help find a positive way forward.
I brought the issue to Parliament, coordinated a cross-party letter from MPs and worked with all those involved as efforts continued behind the scenes. Today, I’m pleased that Camphill Milton Keynes Communities will be taking over the service, providing stability and continuity for residents and their families.
This outcome is a testament to the determination of the families who campaigned tirelessly to protect this special home. Thank you to everyone who played a part in securing its future.
