I have had the opportunity to visit RAF Waddington (the home of the Red Arrows), Shrivenham (our defence academy), Brize Norton (one of our largest bases and home of the parachute regiment) in recent weeks to learn more about our defence capability.
It is very clear that we need the Government to commit now to 2.5% of GDP of defence spending.
We must ensure that investment is made not only in our next generation of equipment but also in the infrastructure - the accommodation for our service men and women. We owe such a debt of gratitude of our armed forces.
