I supported Alistair Carmichael’s 10 Minute Rule Bill in Parliament earlier today that calls for a range of provisions to get fairer prices for farmers and food producers across the UK, including strengthening the Groceries Code Adjudicator, supporting greater public procurement of locally produced food and enhanced origin labelling requirements.
The Bill is backed by the NFU, Countryside Alliance and various other organisations.
With Labour’s changes to Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief, it is more important than ever to support our local farmers.
