Heading to the EU this summer? Check your passport before you travel. 
Around 1,400 people every week are being turned away from flights because their passports do not meet the post-Brexit travel rules.
Many of you are still relying on the expiry date printed in their passport, but that’s not enough. For travel to most EU (and Schengen) countries, your passport must:
Have been issued less than 10 years before your date of entry
Have at least 3 months remaining on it after your planned departure from the EU
If you renewed your passport early before 2018, you could have been given extra months on top of the standard 10 years. Those extra months no longer count for EU travel.
