I want to make sure South Northamptonshire has the policing provision our community deserves and that is why I am calling for a new police station in the area.
I have been meeting with Northamptonshire's Chief Constable, Ivan Balhatchet, to discuss what a new provision could look like for our area. Towcester would be an ideal location for this - the town's police station closed back in 2012 and our community has felt that loss ever since.
Rural crime and road traffic incidents are a real priority for me. Having a local, face-to-face counter where residents can walk in and speak to officers would make a huge difference to how safe our community feels and how safe it actually is.
